A Day in Hogsmeade - Margie and Astoria
Margie slipped on her favorite black sweater as she got ready for her day in Hogsmeade. It was a month before the end of term, and Margie could really use the day to relax away from studies and such. Another good thing about Hogsmeade was being able to have some girl time with Astoria. With the two of them being in different houses, they very rarely had time to hang out especially with their 6th year classes becoming more difficult.
As she walked through the castle and out into the courtyard, it began to get colder and colder. There hadn’t been snow yet, but she felt like there could be any day now. She wrapped her Gryffindor scarf nightly around her neck and sat on a bench to wait for Astoria. A few minutes later, she saw her friend come out of the front door. Margie stood as they started heading for Hogsmeade. “How’s life?” Margie asked while they walked. “I feel like everything has been super busy. Between studying and quidditch, it’s hard to do much else,” Margie smiled.
Astoria decided to take a break from studying Transfiguration, something Gryffindors were notoriously better at than any other house. Maybe she could ask Margie about how to turn a goblet into a rat when they met up at Hogsmeade later. Astoria looked at the clock, and then left the library to get dressed into something more attractive than her pyjama pants and black vneck t-shirt. Dressed in a grey and white striped sweater, denim jeans, and black boots, Astoria was excited to meet up with Margie. They haven’t had a lot of time to catch up this year, due to harder classes and being in opposing houses.
As Toria was walking out of the Slytherin common room towards the courtyard, she kept her eyes focused on her boots; her long, dark hair falling over her shoulders, hiding her face. Astoria remembered the first time she met Margie- on the train to Hogwarts their very first year. Toria’s older sister Daphne went to off to sit with her friends, so Toria was left in an empty cabin. Then Margie walked in and sat opposite of her, which led Astoria to promptly talk Margie’s ear off about every subject in the wizarding world. After that, with Margie still sitting there, Toria figured that they would be good friends. As she walked out to the courtyard, she saw a girl in a black sweater and a Gryffindor scarf and walked towards her. “Manageable.” Astoria laughed as she replied to her friend’s question. Although Astoria wasn’t on the Slytherin Quidditch team, she still knew through Margie’s experiences that it was a big commitment and took away time from studying.
